Choosing Your Solar System Package
Solar systems are designed to meet your unique electricity consumption requirements.
Each package includes appliances that can be used, along with their consumption values. Use each package as a guide for your requirements.
When ready, you’ll be able to complete your custom quote form with a clear understanding of what you need to not worry about blackouts ever again.
What’s included
Batteries, solar panels, inverters. Here’s what you need to know about the equipment that makes up your solar system.
Solar Panels
Solar panels are made from silicon sand and designed to create individual cells. Silicon cells are melted to create the surface of a complete panel, with cells encased in an aluminium frame.
Solar Panels and Inverters
Solar panels are connected to an inverter to convert solar power (DC or direct current) into (AC or alternating current) electricity for use on your property.
Solar Panels and Roofing
Panels can be installed on clay, cement, steel, and slate roofs. It’s against the law to install solar panels on thatched roofs due to the fire hazard they pose.
Panel Warranties
There are several types of panels, and we install high-quality, high-performance panels that come with a 25-year warranty.
Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-Ion batteries are long-lasting batteries made of lithium iron phosphate. They are uniquely suited to offer a high cycle and service lifespan, allowing charges and usage for a long period.
Battery Charge
Batteries require time to charge once used. The rate at which they can charge before use is also crucial, especially during rolling load-shedding schedules.
We only install high-quality Lithium-Ion batteries with a 1C rating, allowing for a full recharge in an hour. Fast recharge times ensure that you’ll be ready for any unseen blackout or load-shedding event.
Battery Warranties
Most high-quality batteries are designed to offer 10-year service and 6000 charge lifespans, backed by 5-10 year manufacturer warranties.
Hybrid Solar Inverters
Inverters act as the heart of a solar system, controlling the conversion of stored solar energy into electricity for consumption.
Your inverter is only capable of carrying the consumption load it has been designed to carry. In cases where more solar energy is required to power a property, more than one inverter is installed alongside the required amount of additional batteries.
Hybrid Inverters
Hybrid solar inverters are a combination of a solar inverter and a battery inverter. Housed as a single piece of equipment, they intelligently manage power from your solar panels, solar batteries, and the utility grid simultaneously.
Combining both functions into a single device improves energy efficiency. Where a traditional solar inverter converts power from solar panels into electricity to be used by appliances, a battery inverter is able to handle the process of inverting DC electricity that’s stored in your solar battery storage into AC electricity that can be used by your home.
Inverter Warranties
We install hybrid inverters that are backed by a 3-5-year manufacturer warranty.

Home Solar FAQs
All you need to know about going solar and becoming electricity independent.
How does solar work?
Solar systems include three core components:
1. Solar panels capture sunlight
2. Batteries store energy
3. An inverter converts stored solar power into electricity
Solar energy is generated by sunbeams captured by solar panels. This energy is then stored in your solar system battery. When needed, your inverter converts the stored solar energy into electricity for use.
Is solar safe?
Yes. Once installed and in place, solar energy is safe to use.
Which appliances should have power during a blackout?
Besides the need for lighting, appliances typically used during blackouts include stoves, TVs, WiFi modems, PCs, and Geysers. Appliance usage differs by season where, for example, you may need to use heaters in winter and fans in summer.
How long does solar power last?
How long does solar power last?
Can I upgrade my solar system later?
Yes. You can upgrade your entire solar system or make specific upgrades to your equipment.
Upgrades can include adding extra solar panels to capture more sunlight, additional batteries to store more energy, or extra inverters to manage the energy consumption.
How do I pay for solar?
Two simple and easily accessible options include:
1. Activating your access bond facility if you have a bond (home loan).
2. Apply for solar product finance from any of South Africa’s leading banks.
How long does an installation take?
Installation takes between 3 to 4 days, depending on the size of the installation. Learn more about how we complete professional solar system installations.
Does the installation damage my property?
No. While solar system equipment will be attached to walls in your home and next to your DB board, there is minimal drilling and disturbance to your property’s aesthetic.
Does installing solar increase my property's value?
Yes. Adding solar can increase your property value by 3% to 4%.
Do I get an Electrical Compliance Certificate with my installation?
Yes. You will receive a valid Electrical Compliance Certificate or CoC. This can be provided to your bank to ensure that your bond agreement stays valid. It can also be presented to your insurance company in the event of a claim.
Do solar systems come with warranties?
